Revisamos en forma retrospectiva las historias clínicas de 59 pacientes mayores de 65 años de edad, atendidas en nuestro servicio Patología Mamaria SOH IVSS, Hospital Oncológico Padre Machado entre 2006 al 2010, con un seguimiento de 1 a 81 meses, con la finalidad de evaluar la forma de presentación más frecuente del cáncer de mama y el estadio clínico al momento del diagnóstico, observándose que el diagnóstico por mamografía de pesquisa apenas representa el 12 % de las pacientes evaluadas y en el 52,52 % las pacientes presentaron estadios clínicos avanzados .
