El Virus del Papiloma Humano es un virus oncogénico involucrado en el desarrollo de neoplasias epiteliales. En el presente trabajo se realizó una revisión de la biología del virus incluyendo su estructura, función, y la respuesta inmunológica a la infección viral. Además, se estudiaron las neoplasias asociadas, su relación con el Virus de Inmunodeficiencia Humana, y la forma de prevenir la infección viral a través de la vacunación. Esta medida conducirá en el futuro a reducir la infección y por ende el desarrollo de estas neoplasias.
The Human Papillomavirus is an oncogenic virus involved in the development of the epithelial neoplasias. In the present work a revision of the biology of the virus, including the structure, function and immunologic response to the viral infection, was done. In addition we study associated neoplasias, and the relationship with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, and the way to prevent the infection through the vaccination were studied for us This approach will be able to decrease the virus infection and the development of neoplasias in the future.
