Los tumores de células gigantes si bien son frecuentes en las epífisis de los huesos largos, la presentación en huesos de las manos es realmente infrecuente. Se presenta un caso de tumor de células gigantes que afecta la falange proximal del dedo pulgar mano izquierda ulcerado. El tratamiento consistió en cirugía ablativa tipo desarticulación carpo-metacarpiana. La paciente 15 meses después presenta lesiones metastásicas en ambos campos pulmonares.

We present a case of giant cell tumor that affects the proximal phalanges of the thumb left and ulcerated hand. The giant cell tumors, although they are frequent in the epiphyses of the long bones, the presentation in bones of the hands is really infrequent. The treatment consisted of ablative type carpal metacarpal disarticulation surgery. 15 months later the patient presented metastatic lesions in both pulmonary fields.
